Sancta Maria Catholic College of Nursing Sciences, Uzairue is a community of learners including students, parents and staff who are dedicated to creating an academically rigorous, culturally caring and inclusive learning environment. Sancta Maria Catholic College of Nursing Sciences students are goal-oriented, critical thinkers and community leaders who are dedicated to achieving the highest level of integrity and academic success.
 
The administration and staff are committed to providing a challenging and supportive learning environment where all students can succeed and reach their full potential. Every member participates in cycles of continuous learning and improvement that includes establishing high expectations, goal setting, planning, action and reflection. We develop a culture of excellence that includes a robust instructional program aligned to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria with a focus on implementing Balanced Literacy through Reading and Writing clinical experiences, as well as by building language, literacy and competency across all subject areas. 
 
To this end, we seek to develop well-rounded students who exemplify health, wellness and character development.
 
BRIEF HISTORY
Sancta Maria Catholic College of Nursing Sciences, Department of Midwifery, Uzairue was established by the inception and vision of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, His Lordship Most Rev. (Dr.) Gabriel G. Dunia, who saw the need to empower the taming young girls in the environment, Edo North and its Environ to help in the reduction of maternal mortality and morbidity rate in line with WHO goal.
 
The Nursing college was established to educate students midwives both in theory and practice with a view of them  becoming registered midwives and to toll on the right path of becoming good leaders in Nursing profession.
 
This Vision was achieved through the dynamic roles of the Hospital Administrator Very Rev. Fr. Sylvester
Attashie. The first Provost of the college was Lady C.O Uwaleme from July 2019 – May 2021.

Sancta Maria Catholic College of Nursing Sciences is located in Uzairue, Auchi in Estsako west local government area of Edo State Nigeria.

For visitors not conversant with Auchi, we advise that you use the google map attached at the bottom of this page or the directs below.

From Jettu junction, which is the most popular junction in Auchi (as at the time of this post), visitors are to keep right towards Jettu market, straight through Afowa to Sancta Maria Catholic Hospital, where our institution resides within.

To get admitted, applicants are expected to have completed their  application form, seat for entrance exam and successfully pass these the exam to be admitted.

Admission in Sancta Maria catholic College of Nursing sciences is strictly on merit. All applicant who fail to complete the application process will not be considered for admission.

For our Midwifery course, students who successfully completed the requirements of nursing and midwifery council will be awarded a certificate of midwifery and a license to practice in Nigeria.
