Nursing (ND and HND)

Four years. Five qualifications. Trained inside a working hospital.

Our principal nursing pathway takes you from school leaver to registered professional in four years: two years of National Diploma followed by two years of Higher National Diploma. You qualify holding two academic certificates and three professional registrations.

Overview

Most nursing programmes qualify you in one thing. This one qualifies you in three.

Over four years you work towards the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Nursing, and alongside them you sit the professional qualifying examinations of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria for Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and Registered Public Health Nurse.

That combination matters when you start applying for work. A nurse who is also registered in midwifery and public health nursing can take posts in hospital wards, maternity units and community health programmes, rather than being limited to one of the three.
